After a mega successful tour run this past year, including opening for Chet Faker and Flume, our best homie and New York-based artist Sweater Beats has finally released his Hayao Miyazaki-inspired, four-track Cloud City EP on HW&W (not to be confused with the Cloud City of Star Wars per our exclusive interview with him a few months back).
All four tracks combined demonstrate the more matured Sweaters’ creative and meticulous style of future bass that’s meant to immerse you into this beautifully synth-laden fantasy world – very reminiscent, of course, of Flume and Rustie, but also specifically of mega producer Porter Robinson, who’s recent work is also highly influenced by anime films and Miyazaki.
