One of my favorite discoveries of 2013 has been newcomer on the grime scene, Houston producer, Rabit. Rabit’s debut release Double Dragon is theatrical and ambitious, and every bit refreshing. I’ve never heard grime quite like this. The Kelly Rowland edit Rabit unveiled today has me floored.
Rabit’s take on pop music is dark and exploratory, and weaves his eerie cinematic touch through Rowland’s sexy “Dirty Laundry.”
I was lucky enough to meet Rabit and Paul, behind Glacial Sound, when they visited New York earlier this year. Tom Lea of FACT Mag actually had the chance to interview them for the site’s New Talent feature. Be sure to check it out here.
Rabit’s Double Dragon EP was released earlier this month on vinyl and digitally through new Dublin based label, Glacial Sound. Be sure to keep a close eye on these guys as they are just getting started.
