After more than a year’s worth of releases, remixes, and a phenomenal live tour, Machinedrum‘s long-running Vapor City project (or perhaps ‘saga’ is a better word), at last comes to an end with the final chapter and release of Vapor City Archives, which has the relentlessly hard-working Ninja Tune artist sending us off with 10 brand new tracks to continue our exploration of the musical metropolis that is Vapor City.
Along with artwork from the project’s art directors: LuckyMe’s Dom Flannigan and Éclair Fifi, Vapor City Archives has us shuffling between Machinedrum’s future-minded canon of IDM, footwork, hip-hop, jungle and drum & bass – the latter influences prominently heard in the single “More Than Friends,” which you can stream here.
The Vapor City Archives album is out now and can be purchased digitally on iTunes, and on 2xLP vinyl from the Ninjashop. Stream “More Than Friends” here and watch the mesmerizing video accompaniment below.
