french kiwi juice FKJ soultronica ericalandia

Is he French? Is he a Kiwi? The answer is, he’s very wavy. [He’s both, btw]. French Kiwi Juice aka FKJ swims laps where the analogue and the digital meet. His sound is this perfect intersection of organic and electronic. His skill set is exemplary as a multi-instrumentalist & his looping freestyles are nuts. Hailing from Tours, France and calling the French House music scene home, his iconic warm & groovy aesthetic are a foundation in the Parisian Electronic Soul scene.

This debut self-titled LP on Roche Musique houses his super smooth signature sound featuring his bass, keys & sax licks along with.. is that him singing? Yep. Orginally FKJ came on my radar over the last few years for dropping exceptionally produced remixes for Jabuki, Bondax, Lianne La Havas, Alina Baraz & Galimatias and one of my favorite reworks, “Be Thankful For What You Got” by William De Vaughn. It’s nice to see an LP that ranges his spectrum of floaty soulful beats to Nu-Disco-ish “Go Back Home”.

A favorite of Red Bull Studios for his ability to loop-produce tracks on the fly, that’s how he met sof-singing chanteuse June Marieezy aka (((O))) who resides in the Philippines, featured on “Vibin’ Out”. There’s a dope video of their “Amsterjam” collab out there on the interewebs and few very cool studio session go-pro videos like “Daily Jam” in case you can’t catch him live. He’s currently touring a mostly sold-out North America tour and hitting Coachella this month.
