Gabe Madera, is one of the founders of the LA crew Late Night Laggers, a crew of friendly Angelenos with a love of Global Bass/dance culture who throw rager tropical themed parties all across town. Also known by the nickname Chaboi, Gabe heads up the fire dj squad keeping his Pan-Latin crates full of diaspora bangers at all times. Multi-tasking, he’s been setting aside time from party-throwing and being part of a Indie Rock & Electronic band, Model Soul to produce edits & remixes of some of his favorite R&B throwbacks.

This track, Slow Body is a Rasterinha take that interpolates Slow Motion by Trey Songz and grabs that cute melody from Body On Me by Nelly, Ashanti & Akon. (Rasterinha is a Brazilian electronic music genre that derives from Funk Carioca, Reggaeton, Samba and Axé. The sound amplified by DJs like Omulu, DJ Comrade and Munchi;  who have collaborated with the Laggers at events). Omulu and Chaboi ended up booked at Que Bajo’s party in NYC a couple years back and had time to sit down, sample swap and chat about global music movements including recent genre developments in Brasil which ended up being the source of sonic inspiration for this track.
