The young producer and Savemoney affiliate, Smoko Ono is not treading 2015 lightly. Tuesday night a track he co-produced with Stefan Ponce and D. Phelps for Kanye West’s new project, “So Help Me God” premiered during a secret show at KOKO in London.
With the help of A Billion Young bass player and Chicago native, Carter Lang – Smoko Ono is hitting us with a new synthy-boom bap rendition of Queen Aaliyah‘s classic R&B joint “One in a Million.” Smoko Ono has transformed the songstress’s ballad into a groovy house number that’ll have you up dancing too quick. The two Chi-City producers have been collaborating over the last few months and are in the midst of finishing Smoko Ono’s debut project, “Memories of the Future.” The project is said to host Vic Mensa, Chance the Rapper, and Jarred AG. Keep your ears poised for more.
