We don’t normally cover Serato Pressings for our #WaxWednesdays feature, but there’s a first time for everything, and this week we’re excited to introduce Serato‘s new project with Nick Hook for his debut Ninja Tune release of Collage V.1, featuring four tracks housed on a smokey grey, marbled vinyl Serato Pressing, plus a five-part documentary series.
Serato’s video series follows our man Nick Hook from the West Coast, where he collaborates on tracks with Egyptian Lover, Lenny Castro, Todd Edwards and Sunni Colon, to the East Coast where he teams up with Bernie Worrell, Kilo Kish, Bodega Bamz, Crystal Caines, Sliink, Nadus, Cmat and DJ Paypal. In the final episode, we’ll get an inside look at the artwork production and the actual pressing of the record in Nashville.
Nick Hook’s Collage V.1 Serato Pressing will be available in December via the Serato online store. An extended five-track version will be available digitally via Ninja Tune. Stream the first track here, “J.A.M.I.T” featuring 808 pioneer Egyptian Lover, and watch the first episode below to discover the magic behind the music.
