Under no circumstances should we ever miss a Digging In The Clouds feature. However, due to unforeseen events, we were not able to post on Tuesday. To make up for our tardiness, this week’s D.I.T.C. is brought to you by our boy Aubrey, who will be performing his hit song “Started From The Bottom” at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 25. As you can see, October’s very own has been digging for new remixes in the Soundclouds that are around 1k plays or less… now we here.
First, Montreal’s VXNYL apparently ate some brownies and decided to rework Twista‘s “Overnight Celebrity,” under the influence of…. chocolate? A sped-up loop and trapped out beat make his “Overnight Sobriety” anything but sobering. Next, Icelandic producer Fonetik Simbol flips Usher‘s heartbreakin’ hit “Climax” with pitched-up vocal edits and a fresh, hip hop instrumental. His SP 303 remix of Adele’s “Skyfall” should also be on this list; that one really knocks.
Next, Leed’s own Jonas LR, who we secretly crush on for his “Feux D’artifice” track, also did Alicia Keys‘ “No One” proper in a future garage remake. It’s from 2 years ago, but Aubrey doesn’t give a F. (Make sure you peeped that DJ Sliink x Nadus rework we posted today!) Finally, new-kid-in-the-clouds The Dealer from Southampton, UK’s inaugural upload is a bumpin’ house remix of TLC’s classic man-hatin’ “No Scrubs” re-titled “No Dubs.” Shout out to MNEK for reposting that for Aubrey to excavate.
Hope you enjoy this special Thursday edition of Digging In The Clouds : -)
