8/17 – Merrillville, Indiana
12:21pm
We woke up in Merrillville, Indiana. It’s a tease outside of Chicago, but close enough to civilization to dine at Chipotle and get high at Starbucks. As we cross a vast parking lot headed back to the bus, Feed Me informs me that coffee doesn’t come in 32 ounces in England. Venti iced coffees are one of his favorite parts about touring in America.

After much team effort and many panicked phone calls to local liveries, Mitch saves the day by calling the Hilton Concierge. They send over Al in a shady, but sturdy, 12-passenger van. Al ends our 45-minute journey with two jokes. I can only remember one.

What did the banana say to the vibrator?
What are you shaking for? She’s gonna eat me!

5:01pm
We met some of Feed Me’s friends for dinner and had crab legs, a favorite shared by both myself and Feed Me.

8/18 –  Minneapolis, Minnesota
9:19pm
Yet another day off. This is actually a luxury and much needed break for the hard working crew. I directed the excursion to Starbucks. It was a productive day for most of us. Feed Me sketched logos for Natalie. Natalie worked on her business card design. Mitch worked on his website. Delta Heavy worked on his tweets. He and his partner Simon have spent the past year in the studio working on an album. He said it’s been rough because fans expect them to keep making Drum & Bass, but like all artists, they grew. They’ve changed and they evolved. Their new album is rooted in their D&B tradition, but made for the sound of 2015.

I caught up on emails. TJANI never made it out of bed.

8/19 – St. Paul, Minnestoa
3:59pm
Despite precautions, Delta Heavy and Feed Me woke up sick.  Mitch doled out vitamin C pills to protect the rest of us.
